Not another ‘gift ideas’ post! Oh yes! And this is the best one you will ever read!

Why do you think I am writing this post?

To make money? OMG! If that was the case, I wouldn’t be smart about how I manage my blogging business. Yes, some of the links you can click are affiliate links, so if you ever choose to buy an item right away, I would earn a tiny commission. Tiny is the word to remember here. If I do $5 out of this article, I would be happy!

I am writing this article to help you! Why? Because that’s why I am running Easy Planet Travel: to help you any way I can. And because I never know what to offer to the people I love.

So here’s a list of things that I honestly like and use, or things that I would like to receive as a gift (like the new GoPro Hero 5 Session that my husband and sister just gave me!). The items are listed in ascending price. So if you don’t have a big budget, just read the first few ideas!

Travelon Set Of Two Luggage Tags, $7best gift traveler

Because everyone needs luggage tags. Because they are so flashy that you will spot them from Customs. And because they are only $7.

Luggage Hugger, $13best gift traveler

Now if your loved one as trouble finding her suitcase in the middle of the carousel chaos, this is the perfect gift! I don’t have one, but I think this is genius!

Travel Door Alarm with LED Flashlight, $10.99best gift traveler

This is for your friend who never feels secure at night: a travel door alarm that triggers 100DB. We have been using it for a long time, and we never leave home without it. You can even use the alarm for windows you don’t feel secure with. I have never used the flashlight though, but I guess it’s useful when trying to set it up in the dark. And it is very small and light, so it won’t take much room in your luggage.

Lumsing Portable External Battery Charger, on sale at $18.99best gift traveler

I bought a portable external battery charger for our 2-month trip in Asia last year, and it saved us so many times! We never travel without it now, even for a weekend. I would recommend at least 8,000mAh, with 2 USB ports. We have an Insignia, but I couldn’t find it online. The Lumsing charger is even better: it has 3 ports, and 10,000mAh, and it is as big as an Apple 6 Plus.

Portable Door Lock, $19.95best gift traveler

We never travel without our portable door lock anymore, and all our friends want one. This door lock keeps us safe in any hotel/hostel/motel room, preventing people, even if they have the key to the door, to get inside the room. This is also useful if your friend is traveling with a toddler, and don’t want her to get access to a room or to the balcony. Very small to carry, even for backpackers.

Sholdit Infinity Scarf with Pocket, $39.99best gift traveler

Again, this is smart! I like multi-purpose items, and this one is genius: stay warm AND hide your passport and money. Just don’t take it off and leave it on your chair!

Skyroam Mobile Hotspot, $99.99

best gift travelerI want one (if someone I know is reading this)! This is the new must for traveling: a personal wifi hotspot that provides as much data as you want! You buy this hotspot (that already comes with 3 free unlimited day passes), and then buy day passes that gives you unlimited data. Genius! I need this! Because wifi in hotels is usually quite slow, because when we are on top of a mountain, we want to show the vista with Facebook live, or an Instagram story, or a Snapchat.

Fujifilm FinePix XP90, $149best gift traveler

We used this adventure camera on our last trip in Asia, and we liked it a lot. You can read my review of the camera here. It is shockproof, sandproof, freezeproof, waterproof, childproof and dummyproof! You can also take pictures with it, remotely from your smartphone, and transfer the photos by wifi. Genius! We had a lot of fun with this camera, and you will too! This is an affordable version of an action/adventure camera 😉

GoPro HERO5 Session, $299best gift traveler

This is the new cool camera to have when you travel: the new GoPro Hero5. Now there is the Black version of the camera, and the Session version of the camera. I now own a Session, and I like it a lot! Of course, this is the perfect gift for the cool traveler, the adventurer, or just the mom or dad that wants to capture their little ones in action! Be aware: your friend will need more than only the camera. He will need to buy, on top of the $299, a micro SD card, and probably mounts, filters, etc.

Nikon D3300 SLR Digital Camera, $495best gift traveler

I am using a Nikon D3100 for my travel photography, and a 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 Auto Focus-S Nikkor Zoom Lens, but it is discontinued. That’s why I recommend the D3300. The photos I take with this camera are amazing, and it is easy to learn and use. It has a lot of options, for beginners to more advanced photographers.

So I hope you will find in this list the best gift for the person you love, or for yourself! I recommend these products because I already like them and/or use them. So from a travel expert, these are cool and useful gifts to give 😉

Do you have other gift ideas for your beloved traveler? Or what would YOU like to receive as a gift?
