It’s happened to the best of us: you think it’s gonna rain the entire day, but the afternoon sun crashes through the clouds like Koolaid Man through a wall. That’s why it’s good to carry around a small bottle of sunscreen just in case. And small-size sunscreen, as any small-size toiletries, helps us save on luggage costs because then we can travel with only a carry-on. For family travel, here is a list of possible carry on size sunscreen bottles you can use for you and your kids.
By the way, there are in a random order ;), though #1 is my favorite! They are all 100ml or under, and also available in both Canada and the USA.
1. Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch Sunscreen SPF 55
This sunscreen is one of the most inexpensive travel-size sunscreen products on its list. That doesn’t mean it sacrifices quality. Being Neutrogena, you know this sunscreen will help you with moisturizing your skin without growing acne like it’s grass in the spring.
2. Clinique Sun Broad Spectrum SPF 50 Sunscreen Face Cream
Tested by dermatologists, Clinique’s carry on size sunscreen is free of oil, gluten, sulfate, and more. It protects you from premature aging and can be used in sensitive areas like around the eyes and your earlobes.
3. Badger SPF 40 Sport Clear Zinc Sunscreen
This cream is all-natural, meaning you won’t find any harmful chemicals in it. It’s hypoallergenic and unscented. The SPF is maintained through activities like swimming and sweating.
4. All Good SPF 30 Kids Sunscreen Lotion
This travel-size sunscreen is both reef-safe and kid-friendly. The biodegradable All Good Sport Sunscreen Lotion is non-sticky and contains ingredients like chamomile and organic green tea. So it’s not just a soothing solution, it’s also great for repairing damaged skin.
5. Sun Bum Pink Grapefruit SPF 30 Lip Balm
I don’t know about you, but I feel a little self-conscious when I have chapped lips. In the hot sun, they’ll resemble a sand-cracked desert. Luckily, this lip balm can be applied at any time anywhere while also being less sticky and thick than other SPF lip balms.
6. Blue Lizard Australian Sunscreen Baby SPF 30
This is one of many great sunscreens for families because it has a wide spectrum of UV protection from its zinc oxide and titanium dioxide. Another great thing about this sunscreen is that it’s water-resistant. The extra cool thing is the cap, which turns pink under a damaging level of UV light.
7. Algenist Ultra Lightweight UV Defense Fluid SPF 50
If you have a skin type that’s oily, dry, normal or a combination of the three, then this lightweight sunscreen is for you. It contains a patented alguronic acid which, according to clinical studies, has increased cellular regeneration by 55% and reduced cell damage from UV rays by 54%. It has a silky, smooth feel, and doesn’t contain any oil.
8. Peter Thomas Roth Radiant Instant Mineral Brush-On Bronzer Sunscreen SPF 30
If you spend a good amount of the summer worrying about getting a tan, then this product is for you. This sunscreen not only protects you from UV rays on the go, but it also gives your skin that sunkissed look. This can work for all skin types.
9. La Roche-Posay Anthelios Ultra-Fluid Lotion SPF 60
This is a facial sunscreen, but shouldn’t be dismissed. Because it’s light and quick to absorb, it can be applied to the sensitive skin of children. What’s great is that it doesn’t feel oily and some have claimed that they didn’t burn at all after being in the hot summer sun for hours.
10. Coola Mineral Face Matte SPF 30
You can count on this natural mineral sunscreen to be free of harmful chemicals. It’s not greasy, so it won’t make your skin look shiny and, instead, give it a matte appearance. You can get one with a slightly different color if you want your skin to look tinted.
11. Aveeno Baby Sensitive Skin Sunscreen SPF 50
You may be looking for something that doesn’t irritate the skin and is good for your child’s sensitive skin. This hypoallergenic, fragrance-free solution doesn’t irritate because of Active Naturals Oat. Combine that with the zinc oxide and you’ve got a soothing sun shield for you and your kids.
12. Avene High-Protection Lotion SPF 50+
Keep your skin hydrated with this lightweight sunscreen. It has an SPF of more than 50. Water resistance can last up to 80 minutes.
Whether you’re going to the beach or spending a day in the city, you and your children must keep your skin protected with any quality sunscreens for families. Learn about your children’s skin and how sensitive it is to the sun. They may need a different sunscreen than you.
