3 Great Family Hotels in Montreal for a Weekend with Kids

3 Great Family Hotels in Montreal for a Weekend with Kids
Category_Destinations>Canada Category_Travel Tips>Family travel

Who am I?

They would surely be due to be repainted

Sometimes you feel like they are suffocating you

Every spring it is an endless ordeal to wash them

You guessed?

These are YOUR HOME WALLS!

We will tell ourselves, in 2020-2021, the walls of our houses, we have not seen them just a little. And if you’re like me, there comes a time when you can’t stand them anymore. Going on vacation is a solution, but often it’s not so much a need for a vacation, but just a change of scenery. So, is it necessary to move to the other side of the world to do so? No!

I share with you one of my secrets and guilty pleasures. When I want to see walls other than those of my home, I often find myself renting a hotel room in the city where I live.

Yes! I do that! Anyway, who said you need to be in a city other than yours to enjoy the pleasures of a weekend at a hotel?

We do it as a family and my husband, my Emma-Kate and I choose a hotel where everyone will find something that will make them happy.

I, therefore, suggest 3 great hotels in Montreal for a family weekend.

Important to mention: at each of these hotels, you can choose a suite with a kitchenette so that you can prepare your meals. And also, I haven’t been sponsored by any of them 😉

Best Western Montreal Airport Hotel

Moms like:

To be close to the airport!! And the Zento Spa! After a nice hot sauna, you can indulge yourself with an hour-long massage and body treatments because, like many moms, it sure almost takes you a special occasion to take care of yourself. And since a weekend at the hotel is a special occasion, you should allow yourself to be pampered without feeling guilty.

Kids like:

The Atrium area with a huge indoor swimming pool. Parents sit at the bistro opposite and enjoy a beverage (hot or cold depending on the season). Kids make friends so easily. That’s why, in less than 5 minutes, they make new friends at the pool and feel like fish in the water.

Dads like:

The complete gym allows them to shake off fleas, but especially the outdoor garden where there are sun loungers and water games. While lying in the sun, he can indulge in reading a good novel, kids having fun in the water games, and, like at the pool, find a way to make friends with the children of the hotel.

SpringHill Suites by Marriott in Old Montreal

Moms like:

Proximity to several Montreal attractions. The Old Port, Old Montreal, Bonsecours Market, Place Jacques Cartier, Place’Armes, rue Saint-Paul, etc. In short, all of Montreal’s most beautiful places are within walking distance.

Kids like:

You can imagine they love the indoor pool, but they’ll especially love the succulent breakfast buffet where they can create their own oatmeal with strawberries, bananas, and Nutella. Obviously, add one or two pastries (because at the hotel we don’t say so to these guilty pleasures).

Dad likes:

The hotel restaurant. In addition to being one of the trendiest destinations for Montreal nightlife, Auberge St-Gabriel offers a truly delectable Quebec gastronomic experience in an eclectic setting where icons of Quebec history come together with modern elements. You may not know it, but this restaurant, which was once an inn, was built in 1688. It is now owned by Guy Laliberté, Garou, and Marc Bolay.

Le Square Phillips Hotel & Suites

Moms like:

The roof terrace offers a very unique view of Phillips Square and the city of Montreal. With a glass of wine in hand, you’ll let yourself be soaked in the heady energy of the metropolis.

Kids like:

The entertainment district is very close. In the afternoon, acrobats, clowns, and other street performers take over the neighborhood to entertain you. Why not drop a few dollars in the artists’ hats, to show our kids how to be grateful?

Dads like:

The layout of the suites in general with its high ceilings makes you feel, not in a hotel, but in a small apartment with historic charm.

Admit that I made you want to see other walls, didn’t I?

And you, do you have any favorite hotels in greater Montreal? What are they?

To finish, let me give you one last tip to “endure” your walls when you’ve seen them too much: hang a world map on them.

It is said that the most beautiful journeys begin by laying your eyes on a world map.

Discover here the maps that I draw by hand and which in addition, are customizable.
