Day 1

This is a map of the first day of your visit of Amsterdam. You can easily walk from one attraction to the other. The longest distance between two sights takes 13 minutes to walk, so it will only be a nice stroll around town. But if you prefer to go Amsterdam’s way, why not rent a bike?

The houses in the courtyard were once occupied by devout celibate Béguine nuns and are still home to single women today. In the centre of the lawns is a medieval church and at No.34 stands the oldest house in Amsterdam.

The Beguinage is in private possession and is not a public ground. It is also a place of silence.
