The Laurentians in the Fall: 17 Best Family Activities!

The Laurentians in the Fall: 17 Best Family Activities!
Category_Destinations>Canada>Quebec Category_Family activities

When the call rings for a nature getaway, the people of Quebec head east, to the charming and bucolic Charlevoix region. For the people of the metropolitan area, they look more to the north, towards an enchanting region, nicknamed nothing less than “dream resort”: The Laurentians.

In the fall, the dream turns into a fantastic, almost surreal story, as the trees put on their colorful coats. My Emma-Kate never tires of this spectacle of colors and I never tire of seeing through her eyes the magic of fall that operates within her.

So, you can guess that my family and I love to soak up the magic in the beautiful Laurentians. I could selfishly keep this magic only for myself, but I want to share it with you so that you too can enjoy being bewitched by the various attractions of this region.

So, to find out what to do in the Laurentians this fall, the 17 activities below are where you will find all the family fun.

Outdoor activities

Hiking and hiking

The many parks in the Laurentians welcome all hikers on routes of different intensities. Whether you are athletic or simply like a leisurely stroll, in the parks of the Laurentians there is an ideal trail for you! Bring something to eat for a picnic along the way.

ATV or Jeep ride

Aventure Plein-air, located in Saint-Hyppolite, offers a range of outdoor activities including their famous rides aboard an ATV or Jeep. Crisscross the forest trails or walk along those on the shores of Lake Morency.

Tree to tree

Located a few steps from the Morin Heights ski resort and campgrounds, Acro Nature offers tree to tree adventures, a colorful adventure in the heart of the Laurentians forest.

Tobogganing down Mont-Tremblant

Skylineluge invites you on a nice descent of Mont-Tremblant aboard one of their sleds, which is a cart halfway between the go-kart and the toboggan. Arrive at the foot of the mountain, a short chairlift ride will take you to the starting point of the toboggan run and then descend.

Gondola ride

Gondolas aren’t just for climbing to the top of a ski slope, it’s also for admiring the scenery all the way up. This is what the Tremblant Resort has to offer with its panoramic gondola rides to admire the beauties of Mont-Tremblant.

Zipline

Tyroparc invites you to try, nothing less, than the highest mega zipline in Eastern America, and Zyptrek offers you a spectacular course of 5 Ziplines at the top of Mont-Tremblant. Let yourself glide to live allure above the beauties of fall.

Stroll in the air

Admire the beauties of falls with both feet on the ground, it’s good, but with your head in the air, it’s better! Air Panorama in Saint-Faustin – Lac-Carré offers you an ultralight familiarization flight and Héli-Tremblant a helicopter flight to admire nature from above. Spectacular views are guaranteed.

Water ride

Treat yourself to tranquility and breathtaking views aboard the Mont-Tremblant cruises in Mont-Tremblant and Alouettes cruises in Saint-Agathe-des-Monts. The spectacle of fall reflected in the water is awe-inspiring.

Festivals

Want to party? Here are 2 festivals on the program for fall 2021!

Focus Festival

This year the first edition of the FOCUS festival will take place at Mont-Avalanche in Saint-Adolph’Howard. This festival which combines music, crafts, and the great outdoors will appeal to all those who like to find a variety of activities in one place, ranging from a yoga session in the morning to a tasting of local products to end with a show at the foot of the mountain.

Oktoberfest

More or less 25 Quebec brewers come together at the Oktoberfest in Saint-Adèle to have you taste their “alcoholic nectar”. Behind each brewer, a story to know.

Gourmet trips

Brunch

Each fall, Au Gré des Saisons, located in Oka, offers its traditional Sunday apple brunch, which includes one bag of apples per family of 3 or more. For its part, La Cabane à Pommes offers its gourmet Quebec brunch on Saturdays and Sundays, renowned for its chef’s gourmet creation: the Demi-Étagé Campagnard. Finally, the Rivière du Chêne vineyard offers a menu that highlights seasonal products and local flavors, every Sunday in October and November.

Vintage

Also at the Rivière du Chêne vineyard, come and experience the harvest, free of charge. A perfect activity for wine lovers.

Gourmet shuttle

Discover the jewels of the Chemin du Terroir des Laurentides. A path where agro-tourism is featured, but also nature, heritage, and history. The Nature Shuttle, also called NANA, offers two different trips on this path each fall. Wine tasting, the harvest of squash and apples, choose the route that suits your interest.

With all these activities, there is no longer any reason not to put the Laurentians on your fall “must go list”. Once you have been there, you can “pin” this destination on my personalized map of Quebec and you will remember all the good times spent every time you pass by!
